Nuclear leaves a RADIATION FOOTPRINT

Radiation From Nuclear Plants

Some scientists speak out about the dangers of nuclear power plants and the deadly radiation that must be stored for thousands or millions of years before it is safe to humans, animals, and the environment. Some voice a concern for the fact that the Ring of Fire, earth changes, future accidents, and storage issues pose a threat to our future survival. In fact, nuclear radiation has the ability to exterminate all life on this planet. Nuclear radiation even has the ability to destroy plasma, which is a debate among some scientists as to the potential to destroy life's most basic energy source. It is time for humuanity to abandon nuclear power. Germany, Italy and others have begun to do so. The rest of us should follow and soon if we are to avoid another diaster like Japan, 3 Mile, Chernobyl, and countless others.

 Into Eternity

Between 200,000 to 300,000 tons of nuclear waste exists according to Timo Seppala. This documentary takes a serious look at the quickly growing issue of nuclear waste and the dangers it poses to all life on the planet. The question is asked how we will create holding facilities that can last 100,000 or a million years. Man has not had many structures last even hundreds of years. What does this say about our contribution to the future of mankind? Learn More

Radiation Footprints From Around the World
Japan

Radiation damge in Japan is already being seen in animals like the earless bunny. This is a sign that future generations of humans and animals will be affected. In fact, we are now seeing mutated plant life in Canada across from the ocean of Japan. Japan's tragic melt is now considered worse than Chernobyl. Recovery will take centuries, but even then the damage to human and animal DNA would be permanant.

The Whole World is Becoming Irradiated

This news report shows the dangers the whole world faces as a result of multimple meltdowns. Michio Kaku comments. Humans exposed to the radiation could be radioactive generations later in their grave sites. Some fear that all of Japan is no longer safe and that their food supply is damaged. Some of the readings coming off of of cabbage can equal an xray everytime one is eaten. This documentary now shows the sad conditions of those who are displaced. Cancer will now be a major concern for the Japanese population.

Japan is Sinking

Now, Japan is facing land instability. This means that these plants could cause further damage around the world as their land shifts. Some independent scientists have voiced their concern and are calling for their plants to be cemented over in case the land falls into the sea. Otherwise the leaking into the ocean would be very catastrophic.

Monja Nuclear Sodium Leak in Japan 1995

The leak caused the plant to close and one of the executives commited suicide. This 1986 constructed plant was fully operational in May of 2010 and 7 months later they faced a meltdown. The plant remains non-commercially functional.

On April, 26th 1986, Chernobyl had a major plant malfunction. The video to the left shows a compellation of what became of just some of the people. The pictures speak loudly to the fact that human DNA is damaged by radiation. These mutations are permanent. That means that if these individuals could reproduce they would then pass on the instructions in their DNA for these deformities. Imagine the genetic damage in the cells that you cannot even see here in the pictures. Minute damage to DNA can mean the difference between Down's Syndrome and a normal baby. Damage to just one chromosome can make a big impact on how the genes are inherited. Radiation causes permanant damage to our DNA.

The realization that we are producing material that can do this to another human being should be enough for humanity to demand that we abandon nuclear power. It is time for humanity to move beyond this behavior and find a balance of comsumption and creation. We have many alternatives to nuclear and it is well documented among those in the energy community. It is time to put human, animal, and plant life above monetary gain. Magnetic energy, crystalline and vacuum energy, solar, wind, renewable alcohols, and others are far better alternatives to nuclear. There really is no debate when human life is the consideration.

In some areas of Russia, radioactive waste is just dumped on the land. This radiation is leaking into the environment and exposing life to damaging effects of celullar destruction.

USA
The Daily Take reports dangers in the US and the reporter states that we should abandon Nuclear Power.

Nebraska Fort Kalhoon and the Cooper Plant 2011

June 7th, 2011- NRC reports unusual event. A no fly zone was issued and speculation of a cover-up ensued.

Simi Valley

Simi Valley California experienced a radiation leak. Thirteen of 43 rods were damaged and paritally melted. The radiation went into the atmosphere. The sodium reactor did not have a containment dome and the radiation went freely into the environment. It is estimated to be 240 times what was released from 3 Mile Island. One third of the fuel was melted.

Health effects are hard to predict. In the 1960's there were two more reactors that had leaks at the Santa Susana site, but they were not widely reported.

3 Mile Island

In 1979, Three Mile Island experienced a meltdown of a nuclear plant owned by the Edison Company and built by Babcock & Wilcox. On March 28, there was equipment failure and an operator error. This led to a partial nuclear core meltdown. The radiation levels were even measured from the sky by helicopters and reached 1,200 millirems (The Washington Post, 1999). People were ordered to stay in their homes and recess was canceled at schools. Apparently, an official at the plant admitted that the company had released the radiation deliberately for 45 minutes from the plant after the meltdown (The Washington Post, 1999). The staff had concerns that a hydrogen bubble would explode and may have acted to release the radiation. The bubble could have caused the reactor itself to explode. The hydrogen bubble reached over 1,000 cubic feet and continued to grow. Residents panicked and orders were given to police to shoot looters (The Washington Post, 1999).

However, this radiation is still a cause for concern more than 30 years later. Still, strange deformities can be seen in plants and animals near the 3 Mile area. The leukemia rates soared and most of them died before they could fight the energy powerhouse that was responsible (Wasserman, 2009). The actions of officials, some representatives in the government, and the corporation were irresponsible and neglectful. The decision to commercialize such a harmful form of technology was based on money rather than long term safe solutions.
